A Brief History
of the
Library
The Geneva Free Library was chartered as an association library by action of the
Board of Regents on June 28, 1905 to serve the Geneva Community.
The original incorporators were members of the Seneca Chapter of the Daughters
of the American Revolution. The Library serves a population of 16.906 from both
the city and town of Geneva.
In 1990, the Library was designated as the central library for the Pioneer
Library System and its 41 member libraries in Livingston, Ontario, Wayne &
Wyoming Counties.
